Thirsty Beaver

For the past number of years, Santa has been filling my stocking with a couple of unique brews, usually picked based on a unique name or label.  This year was no exception.  After a long day at work, weather delayed Mooseheads game and 45 minutes of shovelling, tonight I am tasting the Thirsty Beaver Amber Ale brewed by Tree Brewing Company out of Kelowna BC.

  • Appearance: nice copper, reddish hue with very little head that didn’t last very long.  Some sediment in the bottom of the glass.
  • Aroma: a mild hop aroma is present along with toasted grains.
  • Taste: mild hop taste, no bitterness.  Sweet malt but well-balanced.  Fruity taste as the beer warms.
  • Feel: refreshing carbonation, clean finish

Overall, I liked the Thirsty Beaver, and would definitely drink it again, given the chance.
