It is amazing how fast time flies. Busy at work, busy at home – the weeks are just flying by. For Christmas, our niece got me a great little book, Brooklyn Brew Shop’s Beer Making Book, written by the folks at the Brooklyn Brew Shop.
The book centers around making small 1 gallon all-grain batches in your kitchen. To date, all my beers have been either Festa Brew kits (the easiest of all beers to make) or partial boil, extract and grain based recipes available from the Noble Grape. It is time to try something new.
For $10 I was able to get the additional items I needed to try the 1-gallon test batches – 1 Gallon jug for fermenting, stopper and a new air lock. Using one of the recipes from the book, I modified it to suit the readily available ingredients from Noble grape and came up with something that should resemble an Extra Special Bitter when completed. The first test batch is should go this Saturday.
